Dr. David P. Norton

Dave Norton is director of Palladium and co-founder of Balanced Scorecard Collaborative. He was previously the president of Renaissance Solutions, Inc., an international consulting firm he co-founded in 1992. Before Renaissance, he co-founded Nolan, Norton & Company where he spent 17 years as president, prior to its acquisition by KPMG Peat Marwick.
A frequent lecturer and writer, Dr. Norton’s work with the Balanced Scorecard has been the subject of many articles and public conferences. He is the co-author, with Dr. Robert S. Kaplan, of seven Harvard Business Review (HBR) articles and four books: The Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy into Action (1996), The Strategy-Focused Organization: How Balanced Scorecard Companies Thrive in the New Business Environment (2000), Strategy Maps: Converting Intangible Assets into Tangible Outcomes (2004), Alignment (2006) and The Execution Premium (2008). His books have been translated into 23 languages.
The Balanced Scorecard concept was selected by the editors of Harvard Business Review as one of the most influential management ideas of the past 75 years. Dr. Norton earned a BS in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, an MS in operations research from the Florida Institute of Technology, an MBA from Florida State University, and his doctorate in business administration from Harvard Business School.
