The organizers of the Sheikh Salim Al-Ali informatics award announced today that registration to enter the competition will continue to be accepted until the 31st of January 2010.

Dr. Khalil Abel, who leads the management of the event stated that applications from candidates across the Arab World were welcome and have to be sent to the organizing committee before January 31st through the award’s official website: www.alsabahaward.org.

The ‘Sheikh Salim Al-Ali informatics award’ is considered to be the richest technology competition in the Arab world with prizes amounting to US $370,000 (100,000 Kuwaiti Dinars). Winners will be honored and recognized during an award ceremony to be held under the patronage of HRH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Jabir Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwaiti.

H.H. Sheik Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award is an annual event , that was launched in the year 2001, assuming Kuwait as headquarter for their activities which covers all the Arab countries,. And it’s become under the sublime patronage and generous attendance of H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Emir of Kuwait

This award consists of eight different capacities from all over the Arab World: Individuals, Civil Society, Private Sector, Government, Education, Health, Media & Communications, and Culture; all of which are related to informatics’ development and enhancement.

And is considered the most significant informatics Award in the Arab World, with three hundred and seventy thousand Dollars divided on the participating websites.

Moreover, it took an articulate operational methodology by concentrating on three major tracks. The first track represents the “Informatics Awards” which include the “Kuwait Award”, “Arab World Award”, “Recognition Award”, “Informatics Medal”, and the “Informatics Shield”.

The second track for the Award is the “Informatics Development”, and the last track is the “Informatics Knowledge”.
